چکیده

DOI: 10.1002/aelm.201500070 simulations by Dvornik et al. [ 30 ] Recently, Keatley et al. [ 31 ] used a time-resolved scanning Kerr microscopy to isolate the dynamic dipolar interaction between a pair of nominally-shaped disks. However, a detailed scrutiny of phase-resolved Kerr ellipticity data is required to determine the dynamic dipolar coupling strength versus edge-to-edge spacing/diameter ( s/d ) ratio. The effect of dipolar coupling was also found to be inadvertently enhanced due to their fabrication process. It is essential to perform a systematic investigation on the effect of increasing neighboring static dipolar (henceforth: dipolar) fi eld on a single disk using a precise and straightforward technique. In this paper, we have used a microfocused Brillouin light scattering (BLS) setup [ 32 ]

Thermal Effects Study on Stimulated Brillouin Light Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fiber

we investigate the temperature-dependences of the Brillouin frequency shift in three different kind of single-mode fibers using a heterodyne method for sensing temperature. Positive dependences coefficients of 0.77, 0.56 and 1.45MHz/0C are demonstrated for 25 km long single-mode fiber, 10 km long non-zero dispersion shifted fiber and 100 m photonic crystal fiber, respectively. The results indic...

Comprehensive Theoretical Study on Threshold Power of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Single-Mode Fibers

We have investigated and developed a theoretical approach to explore stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) phenomena in single mode fiber. SBS happening threshold power condition has been studied in terms of fiber parameters and input pump power. To assess threshold power precisely, the pump depletion effect and fiber loss has been included by employing 1% criterion. The threshold exponential g...

Acoustic phonon propagation in ultra-thin Si membranes under biaxial stress field

We report on stress induced changes in the dispersion relations of acoustic phonons propagating in 27 nm thick single crystalline Si membranes. The static tensile stress (up to 0.3GPa) acting on the Si membranes was achieved using an additional strain compensating silicon nitride frame. Dispersion relations of thermally activated hypersonic phonons were measured by means of Brillouin light scat...

Effect of dipolar interaction on the antiferromagnetic resonance spectra of NiO.

We have investigated the antiferromagnetic (AF) resonance modes (AFMR) of NiO, theoretically using a model that includes the effects of exchange, dipolar coupling, and a small cubic anisotropy, and experimentally using Brillouin scattering. Using only superexchange between next nearest Ni atoms the model accounts for the observed AF structure with a [112] spin orientation. The model predicts th...

Brillouin light scattering investigations of structured permalloy films

The static and spin wave properties of regular square lattices of magnetic dots of 0.5–2 mm dot diameter and 1–4 mm periodicity patterned in permalloy films have been investigated by Brillouin light scattering. The samples have been structured using x-ray lithography and ion beam etching. The Brillouin light scattering spectra reveal both surface and bulk spin wave modes. The spin wave frequenc...
